Spine, orthopedic practices opening in the South in 2 weeks

Here are eight spine, orthopedic and sports medicine practices that have opened recently, as reported by Becker’s since Oct. 30:

1. Beaumont (Texas) Bone and Joint Institute is opening a new location.

2. Memphis, Tenn.-based OrthoSouth opened the new OrthoSouth Spine Institute.

3. The University of West Florida in Pensacola (Fla.) celebrated the opening of its new $6 million sports medicine facility. 

4. Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health opened a sports medicine practice in Centreville, Va., at its existing outpatient imaging center.

5. Birmingham, Ala.-based Andrews Sports Medicine is planning to redevelop a portion of a vacant shopping center into a 135,000-square-foot facility.

6. Gastonia, N.C.-based Carolina Sports Medicine Center, in partnership with Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates, broke ground on a 71,000-square-foot sports medicine facility in Charlotte, N.C.

7. Houston-based Baylor Medicine Orthopedics and Sports Medicine opened a new location. 

8. WVU Medicine Thomas Hospitals converted the former St. Francis Hospital in South Charleston, W.Va., to an orthopedic hospital.
