South Carolina orthopedic group to open at new community hospital

West Columbia, S.C.-based Lexington Medical Center will open a community medical center in Columbia, S.C., on March 9, with many specialty practices opening soon after, NBC affiliate WIS reports.

Southeastern Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine, a five-surgeon practice in West Columbia, will begin practicing at the hospital on March 15. The practice has three other locations, according to its website.

Other specialty services will include urology, vascular care, cardiac rehabilitation, and ENT and allergy, according to the report.

The 225,000-square-foot hospital, Lexington Medical Center Northeast, plans to add outpatient surgery and a fixed MRI unit in the future.
