Eugene, Ore.-based Slocum Orthopedics is planning to open a 42,000-square-foot, standalone ASC, according to a May 29 report from Eugene Weekly.

Slocum bought six acres in October for the new facility, which will house 10 operating rooms and 30 patient bays. It will file for construction permits for the ASC in July.

Slocum, which first opened in Eugene in 2007, employs two dozen physicians and 10 physician assistants providing urgent care, physical therapy, sports medicine and imaging.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
