Silver Cross Hospital in Illinois expands telehealth with Teladoc: 5 things to know

Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Ill., partnered with Teladoc to provide continuous access to physicians through telehealth services, according to a report from the Daily Herald.

Here are five key notes:

 

1. Silver Cross Hospital patients will have access to physicians through phone and video consults 24/7 beginning Jan. 1, 2017.

 

2. The visits will be $49 per visit and patients can connect with a physician at the hospital’s website.

 

3. The phone or video conferences include board-certified physicians and pediatricians to treat common medical conditions like flu symptoms, allergies, urinary tract infections and skin problems.

 

4. The visits don’t have a time limit and patients can visit several times until the issue is resolved.

 

5. With the patient’s permission, the telehealth consult can be added to their electronic health record.
