Sierra Regional Spine Institute’s Austin Showalter wins USA Powerlifting Bench Nationals Junior Division Class

Austin Showalter, an administrative support employee at Sierra Regional Spine Institute, won the Junior Division Class for USA Powerlifting Bench Nationals.

Mr. Showalter suffered health issues as a child, including a hereditary bone disease. He went through a hip replacement, knee surgeries, shoulder surgery and other treatment to rebuild cartilage.

He is currently training to join the physical therapy department and eventually hopes to become an anesthesiologist.

“We are proud of Austin’s continued success in his competitions and are happy to have him as part of the team here at Sierra Regional Spine,” said Administrator Penny Forbes.
