Rothman Institute partners with Franklin Bioscience to research medical marijuana: 4 insights

Philadelphia-based The Rothman Institute and Franklin Bioscience partnered to study the effects of medical marijuana, according to CBS Philly.

1. Aris Greis, DO, is a leader in the recent partnership. He indicated the partnership is looking to educate the public about The Rothman Institute’s cannabis program.

 

2. The goal is to curb the opioid epidemic by providing patients an alternative to pain management.

 

3. The Rothman Institute partnered with Franklin Bioscience because the hospital cannot give patients cannabis as part of a research institute. Franklin Bioscience is the third party, making cannabis accessible to patients.

 

4. Franklin Bioscience plans to open a medical marijuana dispensary in Bucks County, Pa., in April.
