Resurgens Orthopaedics founding member to retire after 30 years

Herschel Beker, MD, a founding member of Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics, is retiring after 30 years, according to a Dec. 1 press release.

Dr. Beker is an orthopedic spine surgeon and will retire Dec. 31, the release said. He’s served Georgia’s Roswell and Alpharetta areas since the practice was founded. He’s also been a team physician for Roswell High School for more than 20 years.

Following in his footsteps will be Christopher Blanchard, DO, the release said. Dr. Blanchard is an orthopedic spine surgeon practicing in Resurgens Orthopedics’ Cumming office. He will start at the Roswell office Jan. 4.

“Dr. Beker has been an integral part of the Resurgens Orthopaedics family from the beginning,” Alex Bateman, Resurgens Orthopaedics CEO, said in a statement. “We will miss Dr. Beker’s surgical expertise, his wise counsel on the board and his dedication to his patients and to his community. I join everyone at Resurgens Orthopaedics in wishing him a very happy and healthy retirement.”
