Three things to know:
1. Prior to the new line, Piedmont Neurosciences, patients were transferred out of the system’s hospitals to receive a higher level of care.
2. The unit recently moved to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital’s Marcus Tower and expanded to 42 critical care beds and 48 floor beds, according to the report.
3. The expansion was made possible by a substantial donation from an anonymous donor.
