Physicians earn around $35,000 more than the next top earners — lawyers. The average physician salary is $180,000 whereas the average salary for lawyers was $144,500. There are around 2,064 job openings for physicians, compared with 995 job openings for lawyers, according to Glass Door.
The other top-paying professions include research and development manager, software development manager and pharmacy manager. Pharmacists are number 13 with an average salary at $118,000 with 4,502 job openings.
