According to an AMA Wire report, the American Medical Association plans to join other medical associations as plaintiffs that call on “an appeals court to uphold an injunction won by two Connecticut county medical society that prevents the mammoth insurer from terminating the contracts of physicians in those counties without proper notice.”

The AMA is also coordinating an effort to secure CMS intervention. More than 80 medical associations have highlighted the problematic nature of the terminations which will create access issues for Medicare patients.
