The Open Payments program gathers financial payments as well as gifts given to physicians, including food or consulting fees, to discourage conflicts of interest in the medical profession. The program gives physicians an opportunity to review the data recorded before the information goes public.

Physicians have from now to May 15 to review the data and challenge erroneous information based on 2016 payments. Physicians can review their data through a registered CMS portal.

The agency will publicly post payment information on June 30.
