Here are the five things to expect:
1. There will be more Medicaid patients, and many of them won’t have a personal physician, and so will be looking for a physician who will agree to see them.
2. Patients who select silver and bronze plans will have substantial cost-sharing requirements.
3. The prescriptions that physicians order for their patients may not be on the formulary exchange plan that their patients have chosen.
4. Physicians or their hospitals may not be in the network of the exchange plan the patient chooses.
5. Some patients may think they successfully signed up for insurance but their insurance company doesn’t know it.
