The survey includes a total of 1,442 respondents.
When asked for the primary reason they have not purchased an EHR, respondents reported:
• They are too expensive — 26.2 percent
• We’re planning on purchasing one in the next one year — 24.6 percent
• We couldn’t find a product that met our needs and have indefinitely suspended our search — 15.5 percent
• We don’t have full buy-in from all our physicians — 12.7 percent
• We’ve heard too many horror stories — 10.7 percent
• We’re owned by a hospital or health system and we’re awaiting implementation of our parent’s EHR — 8.3 percent
• We’re thinking of affiliating with, or being acquired by, a hospital or health system and would expect to access our new parent’s EHR — 2 percent
