Pennsylvania hospital’s $300M expansion enhances surgical suites, orthopedic care

Chester County (Pa.) Hospital – Penn Medicine completed its $300 million expansion Jan. 26, which expands orthopedic services at the facility, according to Daily Local News.

Three things to know:

1. The 250,000-square-foot expansion features 15 ORs, 99 private inpatient rooms and a rooftop helipad.

2. Chester County is experiencing about a 4 percent annual rise in its senior citizen population, driving the hospital to add more space and technologies for orthopedic disorders, cancer and heart disease.

3. The hospital employs more than 2,500 with a volunteer staff of 400.
