The study enrolled 212 patients, 100 of whom were given a biosketch card of their attending orthopedic surgeon, which included a picture of the surgeon as well as a brief synopsis of the surgeon’s educational background, specialty areas and surgical and research interests.

The study found that patient satisfaction scores for the group that did receive the biosketch card were 22 percent higher than the group that didn’t get the card.
