Pandemic pushes Stony Brook Orthopaedic Associates to expand in Long Island

East Setauket, N.Y.-based Stony Brook Orthopaedic Associates will open  new locations in Long Island, N.Y., as New York City residents continue to relocate due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a Sept. 30 news release.

Three things to know:

1. The practice is expanding the Center for Musculoskeletal Health to Greenport and Shelter Island in East Long Island. Currently, the center has six locations in New York.

2. Specialties offered will include spine surgery, joint replacement, sports medicine, pediatric orthopedics and podiatry.

3. Stony Brook Orthopaedic Associates has 23 physicians and performs more than 6,000 surgeries annually.
