OrthoVirginia welcomes new CEO

Richmond-based OrthoVirginia has appointed John Phipps, MD, CEO July 6.

Dr. Phipps is an endocrinologist with more than 20 years of clinical practice.

He has held several executive healthcare leadership roles, including president of Charlotte, N.C.-based Novant Health Medical Group. Most recently, he served as system leader for care transformation at Falls Church, Va.-based Inova Health System.

John Barnard, MD, president of the board of directors, has served as interim CEO since last fall, when Dale Ingram left OrthoVirginia after two years at the helm.

In April, Mr. Ingram joined Chesterton, Ind.-based Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute.
