Despite elective surgery restrictions last year, Kevin Debiparshad, MD, has tripled the number of limb-lengthening procedures he performs year over year.

Dr. Debiparshad opened The LimbplastX Institute in Las Vegas in 2018. He completed more than 46 limb-lengthening cases in 2020 and seven procedures in January.

He uses NuVasive’s Precice Stryde, an internal system for stature lengthening and limb reconstruction as part of the NuVasive Specialized Orthopedics portfolio.

“There is still a mountain to climb in building awareness of the procedure and breaking down stigmas for those who complete it, but I am committed to fostering patient education and fueling the conversation toward acceptance,” Dr. Debiparshad said in a Feb. 11 news release.

Dr. Debiparshad will begin supporting NuVasive Specialized Orthopedics as a consultant for orthopedic limb-lengthening this year.
