There is a slight relationship between orthopedic surgeon-patient bias and political leaning, according to the Medscape Orthopedics Lifestyle Report 2016: Bias and Burnout.

Here are five statistics:

 

1. 44 percent of orthopedic surgeons who say they’re fiscally conservative but socially liberal report bias.

 

2. 42 percent of orthopedic surgeons who are fiscally liberal and socially conservative report bias.

 

3. 45 percent of physicians who are fiscally and socially liberal report bias.

 

4. 58 percent of orthopedic surgeons who are fiscally conservative but socially liberal report bias.

 

5. Overall, 43 percent of physicians who are fiscally conservative and socially liberal report bias.
