Here are six notes:
1. The organizations filed a certificate of need with Connecticut’s Office of Health Care Access to build the new surgery center, Woodland Surgery Center, in Hartford.
2. The two groups predict outpatient joint replacements will skyrocket by 227.1 percent in the next decade in Hartford. Additionally, the proposal foresees outpatient spine procedures increasing by 43.9 percent in the next 10 years in the area.
3. The joint venture would give 35 percent ownership to St. Francis and 65 percent to the surgery center, managed by a group of independent orthopedic surgeons, pain specialists and anesthesiologists.
4. The proposed 33,000-square-foot surgery center would bear a price tag of $26.5 million.
5. The surgery center would offer foot orthopedic and pain care and hold six operating rooms, a procedure room and rehabilitation and physician areas.
6. If approved, the organizations hope to open the surgery center in June 2019.
