Four things to know:

1. Spectrum Orthopaedics is a 12-physician group, submitted filings with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services to reorganize as an independent entity.

2. The new practice will be called Clarion View Partners and would retain ownership of an ASC in Portland.

3. The orthopedic group would sell a 50% stake in its ownership to Growth Orthopedics Services for $16 million. The management services organization would support the administration work that Spectrum Healthcare Partners handles.

4. A certificate of need is required for the sale, and the Department of Health and Human Services approved it in October.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
