The clinic was accused of not accomodating a deaf patient during an appointment in 2020, according to a news release. The patient alleged they didn’t get appropriate auxiliary aids and services including a sign-language interpreter.
Under the settlement, Total Orthopedics & Sports Medicine will provide auxiliary aids and services to patients who are deaf or hard of hearing. The clinic will also pay $1,500 to the complaint.
