Orthopedic Associates of Maryland Doubles MRI Business After Storing Paper Records With NDX

Over the past three years, Orthopedic Associates of Maryland has worked with NDX Group and its NDX Archives division to store its patient files and X-rays, which cleared additional space in the practice that was converted into an MRI room.

The practice had 1,800 boxes, 40,000 files and approximately 20,000 X-rays, as compliance regulations required them to keep the records for seven years after the patient’s last visit. Now, most of the practice’s documents and images are on digital files, but they continue to hold the old paper records to maintain compliance.

After enlisting NDX Group’s document management solutions, the practice was able to lease an MRI to a radiology firm and increase its MRI business. The practice also improved operational efficiencies, eliminated excess costs associated with self-storage and are able to rely on their files being safely stored in a controlled environment.

NDX is also able to provide Orthopedic Associates with fast file retrieval of the patient files and X-rays so they have them by 10:30 a.m. the next day
