The test, marketed as the Vitros Immunodiagnostic Products Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Total Reagent Pack, detects the virus that causes COVID-19 by detecting antibodies that lead the immune response against the virus.
Clinicians can use the test in epidemiological research to understand how the disease is spreading. The test uses Ortho’s flagship analyzer, which can process 150 tests in an hour.
