Here are five key notes:

1. The two companies will collaborate to improve health insurance claim completeness and accuracy and reduce claims processing errors and appeals.

2. The partnership will serve more than 900,000 care providers with practice management systems, exchanging them for real time administrative, financial and clinical information that include government and commercial health plans nationwide in the Availity Health Information Network.

3. The participating health plans give providers a timely notification and feedback on actionable errors or information gaps that trigger claims denials. As a result, providers will submit accurately completed claims and reduce the claims processing times as well as mitigate appeals that require investigation and recovery efforts.

4. The system also places an emphasis on helping patients more accurately understand their financial responsibilities.

5. The partnership could increase Availity’s score from about 2 billion to more than 3 billion transactions annually.
