Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health Brain and Spine Surgery opened a new office in Thomasville, N.C., according to The-Dispatch.com.

Here are three insights:

1. Neurosurgeon Gerald Zupruk, MD, will practice at the Thomasville-based location.

2. After earning his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in New York City, Dr. Zupruk went on to practice at the University of North Carolina High Point Regional Physicians Neurosurgery.

3. Novant Health comprises more than 1,500 physicians, 28,000 employees and 580 locations, including 15 medical centers.
