Northwell opens $13.5M orthopedic hospital — 4 insights

New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health opened its $13.5 million orthopedic hospital at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream in North Valley Stream, N.Y., Newsday reports.

What you should know:

1. The 9,741-square-foot orthopedic facility is on the second floor of the hospital.

2. The hospital has 18 private patient rooms, operating rooms and a physical therapy unit.

3. The hospital will be staffed with surgeons from Lynbrook, N.Y.-based Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group and Northwell Health.

4. Physicians will perform general orthopedic, sports medicine, foot and ankle, spine and total joint replacement surgeries.
