NorthShore orthopedic, spine center sets Guinness World Record for largest cast

NorthShore Skokie (Ill.) Hospital’s Orthopaedic & Spine Institute set the Guinness World Record for the largest cast in the world, reports ABC7 Chicago.

Three things to know:

1. The leg cast measured 12-feet long and 5-feet wide and is being showcased at Westerfield Old Orchard mall in Skokie.

2. The hospital developed the cast to stress the important of bone and joint health.

3. Evanston, Ill.-based Northshore University HealthSystem operates four hospitals in the Chicago suburbs and agreed to acquire Swedish Covenant Health in Chicago last month.
