North Carolina hospital opens orthopedic, sports medicine clinic

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, N.C., opened an orthopedic and sports medicine clinic as part of its RiseIndoor Sports complex.

The clinic will provide evaluations, physical therapy and treatments, according to a July 18 news release. Conditions treated include sprains, fractures, ACL and MCL tears, rotator cuff tears and concussions.

Same-day and next-day appointments will be available.

“We are so pleased to open this state-of-the-art clinic to connect even more families in our community with the region’s leading sports medicine team,” said Andrew Koman, MD, chair of orthopedic surgery at Wake Forest Baptist. “We will now be able to provide convenient, fast and comprehensive on-site care for athletes at Rise Indoor and NC Fusion, and to all of our families throughout the area.”
