Here are five key notes:

1. New Jersey Spine Institute has been a subsidiary of Somerset Orthopedic Associates since 1993, but with the reorganization the spine physicians will no longer see patients at Somerset’s Bridgewater location.

2. There are some members of the New Jersey Spine Institute staff leaving and others forming their own groups. There are also surgeons staying at New Jersey Spine Institute through the changes.

3. New Jersey Spine Institute provides physical therapy, pain management, diagnostic spinal injections, MRI and CT scans, electrodiagnostics, surgery and rehabilitation.

4. Surgeons James W. Dwyer, MD, and Paul P. Vessa, MD, remain at the practice. They are both spine surgeons, and they are both former presidents of quality assurance and utilization of the Garden State Orthopedic Network.

5. The surgeons focus on non-surgical solutions when possible and treating the whole person.
