Neurosurgery, orthopedics-focused health system wins award for anti-burnout program

Kankakee, Ill.-based Riverside Healthcare won the 2019 Optimas Award Silver for Innovation for its workforce management program, reports Workforce.

The Riverside Healthcare Well In Mind Employee Support Program established the Focused Provider Rounding initiative to tackle provider burnout in its facilities.

The program was implemented at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Ill., a 312-bed hospital focusing on neurosurgery and orthopedics as well as heart and cancer care.

The program offers the health system’s providers education, skills and resources to address the signals of burnout and help improve the working experience of staff across its facilities.
