The replacement hospital would have larger and private patient rooms, new operating rooms, accommodations for new technology and other amenities not available in the current facility, which is 50 years old. Presbyterian Healthcare plans to build the new hospital adjacent to Presbyterian Hospital but has not made plans for the orthopedic hospital’s present site.
The hospital expects to receive a decision on the certificate of need in spring 2012. If approved, Presbyterian will begin construction within three to six months and complete the project over three years.
