Here are four steps:
1. Figure out whether you are participating with an exchange plan.
2. Determine what your fee schedule is going to be.
3. Communicate very clearly with patients if they are not in the exchange plans.
4. Quantify the damage by taking note of the number of patients that you may lose due to your choice of plan and appeal to the insurance company to see if there is a way those patients can be retained.
