• Slow growth for public programs
For 2013, the growth rate is projected at nearly 4 percent. However, factors like the growing aging population and Affordable Care Act implementation are expected to speed growth beginning next year. According to the report, health spending financed by federal, state and local governments is projected to be 49 percent of all health spending and reach $2.4 trillion in 2022.
