Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush opened its first freestanding physical therapy clinic in Orland Park, Ill.

Three things to know:

1. Under Illinois’ new direct access policy, patients no longer need a physician’s prescription to undergo physical therapy.

2. The new Orland Park clinic features physical therapists experienced in treating sports injuries, work injuries and chronic conditions and providing pre- and postsurgical rehabilitation.

3. Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush doctors serve as the team physicians for the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Fire Soccer Club and Joffrey Ballet, among others.
