Dr. Haemmerle donated his left kidney to a carpenter and farmer from rural Minnesota without every having met the recipient prior to donation. Donate Life America, a not-for-profit alliance of local and national organizations inspiring people to donate their organs, has honored Dr. Haemmerle by selecting him to ride in the “One More Day” float in the annual Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif.
