Mayo Clinic opens sports medicine center

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic has held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Eau Claire, Wis.-based Mayo Clinic Health System Diagnostic Imaging & Sports Medicine Center, according to a July 11 report from NBC affiliate WEAU.

The 20,000-square-foot facility includes a fixed MRI, two X-ray suites and an ultrasound procedure room

The center will be open to University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students and athletes as well as the general public. 

All physicians seeing patients at the center are from other Mayo Clinics in the Chippewa Valley of Michigan, according to the report.
