Virginia-based Martinsville Memorial Hospital has opened a new orthopedic and sports medicine clinic, according to Martinsville Bulletin.

1. The clinic, located in Martinsville, Va., includes six exam rooms, a procedure room and an X-ray machine.

 

2. Martinsville Memorial Hospital staff hope the clinic will help to alleviate long wait times at the hospital’s nearby sports medicine facility, since the new clinic offers walk-in availability.

 

3. Elizabeth Harris, director of marketing at Martinsville Memorial Hospital, told Martinsville Bulletin that orthopedic services are becoming increasingly important in the region due to a growing geriatric population and the support it provides for student athletes.
