Lynchburg Academy of Medicine Recognizes Dr. Paul Fitzgerald for Distinguished Service

Paul F. Fitzgerald, MD, a founding partner at Piedmont Orthopaedic Surgery in Lynchburg, Va., has received the William Barney Distinguished Service Award from the Lynchburg Academy of Medicine, according to a report from The News & Advance.

Dr. Fitzgerald has served his community in several ways throughout his career, including serving on the Lynchburg City School Board and the Centra Foundation board. He retired from his practice four years ago and is now staffing an orthopedics clinic at Free Clinic of Central Virginia.

Dr. Fitzgerald also spent three years as a volunteer surgeon on St. Lucia island and has done volunteer work at a Honduras clinic.
