Kansas hospital launching orthopedic partnership

Emporia, Kan.-based Newman Regional Health will begin its partnership with Lawrence-based OrthoKansas in early 2020, local news provider KVOE reports.

The hospital is hoping the partnership and the state’s possible Medicaid expansion will help to right the ship for the hospital. The hospital expects to post a $2.6 million loss in 2019, with a projected $290,000 loss in 2020.

It’s unclear what form the potential partnership will take.
