Local testing data has not been made available for the public, which the initiative plans to change.
It will include data from COVID-19 tests, paired with expert analysis and guidance, to help businesses, governments and families make decisions about how to proceed, as well as inform public policies and responses to the pandemic.
The initiative will feature COVID-19 testing trends from all 50 states and follow the development and approval of serology tests. The site plans to expand to include analyses of other countries.
It will be housed on the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center webpage, which has been viewed more than 400 million times in less than two months.
