Management services organizations have become increasingly popular for orthopedic practices that want administrative and business support.

Here is a comparison of three MSOs that have made headlines in recent months:

Spire Orthopedic Partners

Headquarters: Greenwich, Conn.

Leadership: Tim Corvino, MD, is CEO. He has more than 20 years of healthcare experience. Lori Funari is COO and came to Spire from New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.

Origin: Spire was founded in February 2021.

Reach: Spire has partnered with six practices in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Its latest deal was announced Feb. 8.

American Orthopedic Partners

Headquarters: Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Leadership: Jay Bronner, MD, is CEO. He founded the platform and has more than 35 years of leadership experience in healthcare.

Origin: AOP was formed in June 2021 after getting funds from Stone Point Capital.

Reach: AOP has partnered with practices in California, Illinois and New Jersey. 

 

U.S. Orthopaedic Partners

Headquarters: Jackson, Miss.

Leadership: Glen Silverman is CEO, and Graham Young is senior vice president. Meredith Warf is vice president of ASC operations.

Origin: USOP was founded in October 2020.

Reach: USOP has 26 practices in the southeastern U.S.
