Lynchburg-based OrthoVirginia has served the "Old Dominion" state through its 32 locations for five years.
Here are nine facts on OrthoVirginia's CEO and CFO:
Barbie Hayes. COO, interim CEO
1. Ms. Hayes has been with OrthoVirginia since 2016, when it merged with the Orthopaedic Center of Central Virginia. She started her current position in 2021.
2. Before that, she was chief administrative officer for OrthoVirginia's West region, and later the East as well.
3. Before her time with OrthoVirginia, she was the operations director for Central Virginia Orthopaedics until it merged with the Orthopaedic Center of Central Virginia.
4. Ms. Hayes was named the Orthopaedic Center of Central Virginia's director of operations after its merger.
5. Ms. Hayes earned her MBA from Danville, Va.-based Averett University.
Christopher Higgins. CFO
6. Mr. Higgins joined OrthoVirginia in 2019.
7. Before coming to OrthoVirginia, he served as executive director of finance and business transformation at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond.
8. He has also served as the CFO and vice president of operations at Austin, Texas-based Founders Healthcare and later as the COO for the department of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
9. Mr. Higgins earned his bachelor's degree in business from Philadelphia-based La Salle University.
