In the past year, Becker's has reported on four prominent surgeons with practices in California, Colorado and Alabama who are expanding their practices to Florida, which is expected to become a key battleground for orthopedics in the coming years.

1. Michael Janssen, DO, founder of Denver-based Center for Spine & Orthopedics, opened a clinic in Saratoga, Fla. Dr. Janssen is a frequent visitor to Saratoga, where he began seeing patients in November.

2. James Andrews, MD, is taking Birmingham, Ala.-based Andrews Sports Medicine to Florida through a partnership with Flagler Health+ in St. Augustine. The organizations are building an ASC at Flagler's Durbin Park campus in St. Johns, Fla.

3. ADR Spinal Restoration Center, the Beverly Hills, Calif.-based spine practice of Todd Lanman, MD, and Jason Cuellar, MD, has expanded to Miami. The surgeons plan to roll out more locations in Austin, Texas, and Tampa, Fla.
