A physician-owned joint replacement center in California and four more orthopedic practices to know:

Active Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (Hackensack, N.J.). Active Orthopedics & Sports Medicine has 11 physicians who treat a variety of spine and orthopedic conditions. The practice joined Summit Health in April.

Great Lakes Orthopaedic Center (Traverse City, Mich.). Great Lakes Orthopaedic Center has 12 physicians, five physician assistants and six physical therapists. Services include sports medicine, fracture care and total joint replacement.

OrthoBethesda (Bethesda, Md.). OrthoBethesda named Emil Engels, MD, as its new CEO in January. It has five centers of excellence including a joint institute, shoulder institute and trauma center.

Robotic Hip and Knee Replacement LA (Los Angeles). Robotic Hip and Knee Replacement LA was founded by Farzin Kabaei, MD. He has specialized training in robotic hip and knee surgery.

Twin Cities Orthopedics (Golden Valley, Minn.). Twin Cities Orthopedics has 37 locations between Minnesota and Wisconsin. The practice's president, David Holte, MD, recently stepped down as president of the board of directors after 19 years in the role.
