In the last month, two spine surgeon leaders have left Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins for other healthcare organizations on the East Coast:

Neurosurgeon Daniel Sciubba, MD, former director of spinal tumor and deformity surgery at Johns Hopkins University, joined New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health. On April 1, Dr. Sciubba began his new role as senior vice president and chair of neurosurgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and chair of the neurosurgery department at the system's North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

In March, spine surgeon Jay Khanna, MD, left his post as vice chair and professor of orthopedic surgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, a position he held for 16 years, to join Columbia, Md.-based MedStar Health. The system named Dr. Khanna to three leadership positions: physician executive director of the MedStar Orthopaedic Institute's Washington, D.C. center; chief of orthopedic surgery at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital; and academic chair of the department of orthopedic surgery at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
