Norwood, Ohio-based Mayfield Brain & Spine is doubling down on a longstanding partnership with The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati to expand neurosurgery care in the region.

The two organizations have collaborated on spine care in the region; now they're expanding their partnership to develop a joint cranial program.

"This partnership ensures that cutting-edge, evidence-based care will continue to be provided right here in Greater Cincinnati," John Roberts, MD, executive medical director of musculoskeletal services at the hospital, said in an April 5 news release. "All levels of cranial care, from the simple to the most complex, are available through our combined resources."

Robert Bohinski, MD, PhD, Mayfield neurosurgeon and director of neurosurgery at The Christ Hospital, said the program's quality improvement, outcome monitoring, protocols and technologies will make it a destination for advanced neurosurgical care in the region.

The organizations said they plan to develop programs that focus on neurovascular disorders such as brain aneurysms, functional neurosurgery, movement disorders and chronic refractory pain syndromes.
