Norwood, Ohio-based Mayfield Brain & Spine CEO Mike Farrington will leave the practice Jan. 22 for an undisclosed healthcare-related job in New Jersey.

Michael Radomski, vice president of finance and CFO, has been appointed interim CEO, while a search committee has been formed to find a permanent replacement.

Since 2011, Mr. Farrington has been CEO of Mayfield, which comprises 19 neurosurgeons and more than 210 employees. The group serves patients across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Mr. Farrington has been CEO of several groups including Orthopaedic Associates of Allentown (Pa.), Biloxi, Miss.-based Bienville Orthopedic Center and Culicchia Neurological Clinic in New Orleans.

"Mark has helped lead our organization through some challenging times, and his strategic focus and innovative planning have put Mayfield on a path to sustainable growth," Andrew Ringer, MD, neurosurgeon and chair of Mayfield's board of directors, said in a Jan. 8 news release. "He leaves big shoes for our next CEO to fill."

Under Mr. Farrington's leadership, Mayfield completed the transition from the University of Cincinnati's neurosurgery department, partnered with other regional health systems and developed services such as physical therapy and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
