Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, N.Y., plans to open Samaritan Orthopedics on Jan. 4, 2021, InformNY.com reports.

President and CEO Tom Carman said the hospital performs more than 900 orthopedic surgeries a year. The new practice will help increase the number of procedures it can perform.

Scott Mollison, MD, a sports medicine specialist who joined Samaritan in 2019, will lead the practice.

The hospital provides care for several other specialties, including general and vascular surgery, gastroenterology, plastic surgery and urology.
