Here are 10 things to know about Richmond-based OrthoVirginia in 2020:

1. Former CEO Dale Ingram moved to Chesterton, Ind.-based Lakeshore Bone and Joint Institute as its CEO in April.

2. John Phipps, MD, was named the new CEO of OrthoVirginia July 6.

3. OrthoVirginia was voted as The Best Orthopedic Practice in 2020 by readers of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

4. OrthoVirginia is one of the largest orthopedic practices in the nation with 114 physicians and surgeons as of July 22.

5. OrthoVirginia has 27 locations listed on its website.

6. OrthoVirginia orthopedic surgeon Mark Jones, MD, was appointed to the board of directors of Hanger, a provider of orthotic and prosthetic products.

7. During the COVID-19 pandemic, OrthoVirginia shifted to an orthopedic urgent care model at five locations.

8. Elective surgeries were paused during the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed May 1.

9. OrthoVirginia expanded services at new offices. It moved its Alexandria office to a new building and combined two other offices into McLean.
